Day 1 & 2: Exploring Fes

We dedicate the first two days to discovering the cultural capital of Morocco, Fes. This imperial city is one of the oldest and most important religious centers in the country, with a university that is the oldest in the world.

A guided tour will take you through the old Medina of Fes, a labyrinth of narrow streets declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the iconic Kairouine Mosque, the tanneries neighborhood, and stroll through the traditional souks. You will stay overnight in a charming riad in Fes.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

On day three, we leave Fes heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as Moroccan Switzerland, and then visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to playful Barbary monkeys.

Drive through Rich, cross the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass, and continue along the stunning Ziz Valley with its palm groves. Late in the afternoon, arrive at Merzouga Desert, check into a beautiful auberge near Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and rest in a Saharan-style room.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi Desert Tour

This day is fully dedicated to exploring the Erg Chebbi dunes. Travel in a 4×4 vehicle, visiting nomadic families and learning about their way of life.

Stop in Khamlia village to enjoy traditional Gnaoua music, then explore the Hassilabiad Oasis and the largest lake in the region. In the afternoon, switch to camels for a ride across the dunes, stopping on a high dune to watch the breathtaking sunset over the Sahara.

Overnight in a Berber bivouac tent under the desert stars.

Day 5: Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

Wake up early for a stunning sunrise over the dunes, then ride camels back to the auberge for breakfast.

Drive to Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most spectacular canyons, perfect for walking and photography. Continue through Dades Valley in Boumalne and the Rose Valley in Kelaat M’Gouna. Visit the historic Amridil Kasbah in Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate, the main Berber city, known for its dramatic mountains and desert landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

In the morning, visit Kasbah Taourirt and the film studios where famous movies like Cleopatra and The Mummy were filmed. Then explore the magnificent Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous mud castles in southern Morocco, featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic pass and arrive in Marrakech. Visit the Medina, the vibrant souks, and the iconic Jemaa El-Fna Square. Overnight stay in a riad in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech – Departure

On the final day, enjoy a few hours exploring Marrakech before your airport transfer for your flight home. This concludes your 7 days Morocco tour from Fes to Marrakech, full of deserts, mountains, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
