Morocco tour of 11 days departing from Tangier in which we will be able to know the great attractions of the country from north to south. This circuit is ideal for those who have time to explore the secrets of Morocco. It is a perfect combination of natural landscapes, culture and great cities. During our tour we will have the opportunity to visit the blue city of Chaouen, the beautiful coastal city of Asilah, as well as cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, visit the monumental imperial cities of Morocco, including a trip to Marrakech. We will also see all kinds of fabulous natural landscapes full of contrasts, including palm groves, oasis, Berber villages that crown the mountains, ancient adobe fortresses as well as the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Tour itinerary

Day 1 : AIRPORT OR PORT OF TANGIER:

Pick up at the airport or port of Tangier according to arrival time with a sign that puts the name of our agency Venamarrecos and transfer to the hotel in Tangier, but on the way we will visit the cave of Hercules and then a tour of the coast until you reach the city center, transfer to the riad and free time to visit the Medina of Tangier. Overnight in riad.

Day 2: TANGER – TETUAN – CHEFCHAOUEN:

After breakfast start the route towards Chaouen, mysterious village founded as a secret place from which to attack the Portuguese installed on the north coast of the country. The entrance to the village was totally forbidden to Europeans until the arrival of the Spanish troops in 1920. It is located within a natural reserve of the biosphere. Chaouen is a holy city perched on the mountain, its streets painted in white and blue, a village of wise, kind and respectful people, offering the visitor beautiful urban panoramas in decline, precious samples of local crafts and a peace and serenity that today is difficult to find. Arrival in Chaouen and free afternoon. Accommodation in hotel in the medina.

Day 3: CHAOUEN – ROMAN RUINS OF VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FEZ:

After breakfast, free time to visit the small blue medina of Chaouen, surrounded by the Rif mountains, wandering through its winding streets, entering through any of its 5 gates and letting our senses take us through its old blue and white houses, full of smells, colors and new sounds. We continue our route to Fez, bordering the forest of Mamora and turning off about 27 km from Meknes (stop for a walk around the square), where the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis. Time to contemplate and stroll among the wonderful archaeological remains of Roman times. Finally arrival in Fez where we will spend the night in a riad with swimming pool.

Day 4: FEZ – FEZ (HISTORICAL AND PANORAMIC TOUR):

Breakfast and guided tour in Fez, the first of the Imperial Cities, its origin dates back to the eighth century. It is also one of the first holy cities of Muslim worship in Morocco and is also proud to house one of the oldest universities in the world. When entering the streets of its medina (old city) we will feel that time goes back: the guild structure is still present at work, the narrowness of its streets does not allow other means of transport than donkeys and a constant tingling of people move through the labyrinthine streets in the middle of which we will be surprised by neighborhoods such as the Andalusian and magnificent mosques and Koranic schools. Day 5: FEZ – IFRANE – AZROU – BOSQUE DE MONOS – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA:

From Fez we will head towards the Middle Atlas to visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next village will be Azrou “the rock”, Berber village known for its craftsmanship, carpets and wood carving and then arrival in Midelt. In the Middle Atlas, you will be able to observe the monkeys living in freedom in the cedar forests. We follow the road through the Tizi Talghemt or Camel’s Neck, at 1,907 meters of altitude. The relief is impressive, the mountains are completely bare. Arrival in Errachidia, where the massif of Tafilalet develops until the palm grove of Erfoud, which offers the best dates in the country. We will continue the route to reach the great sand dunes of fine orange sand of Erg Chebbi next to Merzouga. Free time to enjoy a beautiful sunset in the desert. Dinner and overnight in a hotel facing the dunes.

Day 6: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – DEISERT ERG CHEBBI:

After breakfast, we will head towards the village of Khamlia, called the “village of the blacks”, because its population is composed of descendants of inhabitants from Mali, excellent musicians who have made this art their way of life. We will enjoy a small concert of Gnawa music and we will continue our way in 4x4x to surround the dunes of Erg Chebbi in 4×4, an extension of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, over 250 meters high, connecting by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar, with the mountains bordering Algeria in the background. Subsequent stop at a panoramic point where you can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole and the old khol mines and abandoned Berber and French villages. Visit a nomadic settlement where we will know some secrets of their life and customs. We will then head to Rissani to know its authentic African market where nomads and inhabitants of nearby villages come to sell their products and buy the goods they need and you can try if you feel like the tasty Berber pizza (only made here). Return to the hotel and in the afternoon the camels will be waiting for us to go into the desert, while the sun sets, until we reach the tents camp in the middle of the desert of high dunes, where we will spend the night in a tent. Dinner and night in a tent under the desert stars.

Day 7 : DESIERT ERG CHEBBI – ERFOUD – TODRA – DADES VALLEY :

In the morning, you can get up early to see the sunrise from the top of a large dune and then return with the camels to the hotel. After a good breakfast and a refreshing shower, we continue to Erfoud also famous for its fossil quarries, more than 380 million years old, which are worked by the local people to obtain multiple objects. We will continue to the famous Todra Gorges, a favorite place for climbers and trekking enthusiasts, where you will have time to walk among the high mountain walls and cool off in the river. We will continue to the Dades valley, following the so-called “Route of the thousand Kashbas”, until we enter the valley of the roses where its people make creams, soaps and the famous rose water from the cultivation of these flowers. Dinner and overnight in a cozy hotel in the mountains along the Dades River.

Day 8: DADES – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH :

We will head towards the impressive Dades Gorges, following the course of the river that will take us into landscapes full of strange geological formations, abandoned kasbahs, Berber villages and lush orchards. From here we will continue to Ouarzazate, passing first through the village of Skoura, located in the heart of the valley of palm trees. You can stroll through the vast and labyrinthine oasis, whose lush vegetation surrounds beautiful secret kasbahs and you can also visit the kasbah of Amerdil. We will continue to Ouarzazate, where we will have a panoramic view of the Taourirt kasbah. Ouarzazate is also known as the “Holliwood of Morocco”, so if you are interested in cinema, you can visit the movie studios where many famous films have been shot. At 30 kms from Ouarzazate we will visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO). Free time to stroll through the streets of the Kasbah and climb to the top to see the beautiful views of the valley. In the afternoon we return to the road through the High Atlas Mountains crossing the Tizi Ntichka pass (2,260m altitude), making stops as you wish to enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery with its stone villages in their valleys or slopes. Arrival in Marrakech, where you could take advantage of the night to get to know the magical atmosphere of the Jemma el Fna square, a unique spectacle. Night in riad in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech:

Free day in Marrakech (optional guided tour), a city famous for its Jemaa el Fna square, which will occupy much of your time: an unrepeatable amalgam of aromas, sounds and sensations. The city also has countless places to wander and enjoy: the Majorelle Gardens, the Menara, the Saadian Tombs, walks through the medina or the mellah (the old Jewish quarter), the route of the ramparts and the modern city (Gueliz) with its western ways of life. Accommodation in a riad in the Medina of Marrakech.

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat – Asilah :

Breakfast and departure to Casablanca. Arrival in Casablanca and panoramic tour of the economic capital of the country, the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque and a short tour to see the most emblematic points of the city: the Boulevard de la Corniche, the Park of Nations and the Mohamed V Square. You can also enjoy a stroll if you wish along the beaches on the Boulevard de la Corniche. Then we will continue to Rabat, where we will make a panoramic visit of the capital of Morocco, the Royal Palace, the mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Hassan Tower, Kasbah Oudaya, etc. and continue to the coastal city of Asilah. Free time to visit the beautiful and quiet white medina of Asilah and enjoy the views from the viewpoint by the sea and the beach. Overnight at hotel in Asilah.

Day 11 : ASILAH – TANGIER AIRPORT:

Breakfast and transfert to the airoport or port of Tangier to take your return flight according to your departure time and end of our services.
