Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert

On the first day, our driver will come to your accommodation early to pick you up, and we recommend starting the trip around 8:00 am. We will drive through the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and enjoying beautiful views. Along the way, we will stop for coffee at Ait Berka and visit an argan cooperative. Then, we continue on the road of Telouet until we arrive at the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a 17th-century Berber fortress built by the Glaoui family. In the past, this kasbah was an important stop for the Touareg caravans who traded goods like salt. 

After lunch, we continue the journey through the green Draa Valley and the Ait Saouen curves. Before sunset, you will enjoy a camel ride to reach the Zagora desert camp, where you will spend the night in a Berber tent. Dinner will be served, followed by drums and traditional music under the starry desert sky.

Day 2: Zagora Desert – Agdez – High Atlas & Tichka – Marrakech

On the second day, you will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the desert and have breakfast in the camp. After a short camel ride back, we will start the return journey to Marrakech. On the way, we will stop in Ouarzazate, also called the “Hollywood of Africa,” where many international movies were filmed in its famous studios and kasbahs.

 Then, we cross again the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass before arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon. Your 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora ends with a drop-off at your accommodation.
