1 Day: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara

The 2 days Morocco Sahara desert tour begins with an early pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Fes. We drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, known for its cool climate, snow in winter, and alpine-style houses – no wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Next, we continue to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, where you can feed and photograph these playful monkeys. Later, we stop in Midelt for lunch before heading toward the Sahara Desert, driving through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the scenic Ziz River.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Merzouga desert. Here, you will switch to camels for a ride across the golden dunes. Stop at a high dune to enjoy the magical sunset over the desert. Afterward, we continue to the desert camp, where you can enjoy Berber drum music around the campfire under a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight stay will be in the luxury Berber desert camp.

2 Day: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to admire the stunning sunrise in the heart of the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, return on camels to Merzouga, where your driver will meet you. We then visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, known for its lively souk held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After exploring the souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop, famous for its fossilized marble.

On the way back, we drive along the Ziz River and stop to admire the panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. We pass through the Cedar Forest and Ifrane before returning to Fes, where the tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
