Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes
Your 5-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech starts with a morning pickup from your hotel in Fes. We drive toward the Merzouga Desert, passing through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains.
Our first stop will be Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, then we visit the Cedar Forest to see the playful Barbary monkeys.
Next, we cross Midelt and enjoy a stop for lunch before reaching the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its palm trees and dates.
By evening, we arrive in Merzouga, where your camel ride across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes begins. Watch a stunning desert sunset and enjoy a traditional Berber dinner with music around the campfire under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga – Desert Exploration
After breakfast, we start exploring the Merzouga Desert. Visit Berber Nomad families living in tents and learn about their simple desert lifestyle.
Then, we visit the M’Ifiss kohl mine, panoramic viewpoints, and the Gnawa village of Khamlia, known for its African music and culture.
In the afternoon, explore local oases and enjoy a peaceful desert evening at your hotel or camp.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges
After breakfast, we return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village for a quick refresh.
Then we drive to Rissani, home to one of the oldest traditional souks in Morocco. We’ll also stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops.
Later, we continue to the dramatic Todra Gorges, where high cliffs attract rock climbers and travelers alike.
Spend the night at a hotel in Todra Valley, surrounded by natural beauty.
Day 4: Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate
Today we travel through the Valley of Roses and the scenic Dades Valley, known for its “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.”
We pass Skoura Oasis, filled with palm trees and old kasbahs, before reaching Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.”
Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, we explore the famous Atlas Film Studios where many international movies were filmed.
Next, visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a beautiful fortified village.
We then continue our journey through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with breathtaking views.
