Tour itinerary
Day 1: Agadir – Taliouine – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Your 4-day desert trip from Agadir begins after breakfast or upon arrival. We start our journey through the argan tree forests and head toward Taliouine, Morocco’s capital of saffron. You’ll have the chance to visit a local saffron cooperative and enjoy Moroccan tea flavored with saffron.
We continue to the Berber village of Taznakht, then reach Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous film locations. After exploring this beautiful site, we drive to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and finally continue to Boumalne Dades for dinner and an overnight stay in a charming hotel overlooking the valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we drive through Dades Valley to visit the impressive Todra Gorges, huge canyon walls that reach up to 300 meters high. Enjoy a short walk through the gorge and take some amazing photos.
After lunch, we continue our journey passing through Erfoud, famous for fossils, before reaching the Merzouga Desert. There, you’ll enjoy a camel ride over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach your luxury desert camp. Enjoy dinner, Berber drum music around the campfire, and sleep under a sky full of stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Draa Valley – Zagora
Wake up early to enjoy a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we ride camels back to Merzouga and then drive to Rissani, where you can visit the traditional souk and the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty.
We then travel through Alnif and Tazarine, passing the beautiful Draa Valley, full of palm trees and ancient kasbahs, until we reach Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara. Dinner and overnight stay at a Riad or hotel.
Day 4: Zagora – Agdez – Taroudant – Agadir
After breakfast, we drive through the Draa Valley, stopping at panoramic viewpoints to enjoy the scenery of palm groves and kasbahs. We continue via Agdez and the Anti-Atlas Mountains through Ait Saoun Pass.
Later, we stop at Taroudant, often called the “Little Marrakech,” to explore its old walls and local market. In the afternoon, we drive back to Agadir, where your 4-day desert adventure will come to an end.
